Former Bandido OMCG arrested for impersonating a Taskforce Maxima officer

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima yesterday arrested a 26-year-old former member of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang with impersonating police and drug offences.

Police from Upper Mount Gravatt were called to a Padstow Road, Eight Mile Plains motel on June 30 after a quantity of drugs (methylamphetamine and cannabis) were located by cleaning staff.

It will be alleged that around 7.10pm that same day a man attended the motel and advised staff that he was a Constable from Taskforce Maxima and needed to access the room where the drugs had been located. The man fled after being asked to produce his police identification.

Investigations by Taskforce Maxima resulted in detectives executing a search warrant at an address in Carl Street, Woolloongabba yesterday afternoon (July 7).

Police will allege they located illicit drugs, steroids, scales and a drug utensil during the search of the residence.

A 26-year-old Woolloongabba man was arrested and charged with one count each of assume the designation of a police officer, possess dangerous drugs and attempted fraud. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 21.

An 18-year-old Ferny Grove woman, located at the Carl Street address, was issued with a notice to appear in relation to a charge of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a restricted drug, possessing a utensil and possessing a thing used in the commission of a crime. She is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 27, 2016.

‘This type of concerning behaviour typifies the criminal stupidity of some allegedly ex OMCG members.’ Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens of Taskforce Maxima said.
