Three arrested in biker gang assault

Three members of the Pagan motorcycle gang are in jail after an alleged assault on a rival biker gang member Sunday in Washington Township.

The alleged victim, Ernest Gill, was transported to a hospital by medical helicopter with severe bleeding to his head and face, police said.

He told police he was riding his motorcycle wearing an Iron Order motorcycle club shirt when a group of bikers and a gray Chevrolet Malibu pulled out of Pizons bar on Monessen Street in Belle Vernon and began to follow him. He said they stopped him at the intersection of Hollywood Street and Koslasky Drive, beat him and stole his handgun, cellphone and biker club shirt.

Washington Township police officer Christopher Moody reported he saw the motorcycles and car speeding down Route 201, passing other vehicles just after being dispatched for the assault. While he was interviewing Gill, William F. Metts, 47, of Smock rode by wearing his Pagans vest, followed by Robert Leon Morgan, 40, and James Ryan Vincent, 27, both of Fairmont, West Virginia wearing vests inside-out in a gray Chevrolet Malibu, according to court documents.

Police stopped the bike and car and found a concealed handgun, brass knuckles and a lock tied onto a bandanna, according to court documents.

The three men are facing charges including aggravated assault, robbery and theft.

They are each lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bonds.
