FBI Raids Detroit Motorcycle Club, Other Locations

DETROIT (WWJ) – Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the DEA, are executing raids at a number of homes and businesses in the Detroit area Tuesday.

Reporting from 8 Mile and John R Rd. in Detroit, WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton said federal agents were going in and out of the Detroit Renegades Motorcycle Club, mid-morning.

Michigan State Police were also on the scene, along with an ambulance and officers in tactical gear. At 10 a.m., police had two lanes of eastbound 8 Mile Road blocked.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed to WWJ that the FBI and DEA are "jointly conducting a number of search warrants in the area as part of an ongoing investigation," although he would not immediately disclose any details.

Similar law enforcement activity was also talking place in Southfield, Tuesday morning, in the area 10 Mile and Inkster Rd., where a FBI agents and an MSP K9 unit was seen at a home. A source told Langton that the Southfield and the Detroit raids are connected.

No arrests have been announced and it's unclear at this time who, exactly, is being targeted.
