A local member of the Kingsmen Motorcycle Club, convicted of RICO conspiracy and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking, was sentenced in federal court Thursday to serve 123 months in prison, according to the U.S Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said Edgar Dekay, 38, of Buffalo, admitted to being a member of the Kingsmen crime gang which, authorities said, engaged in such crimes as distribution of controlled substances, maintaining premises for the use and distribution of controlled substances, possession, use and sale of firearms, sales of untaxed cigarettes and promoting prostitution.
On Sept. 21, 2012, Dekay participated in a drive-by shooting, in retaliation against a former Kingsmen member who assaulted a Kingsmen regional president.
Dekay and two co-defendants in the case, Ryan Myrtle and Thomas Koszuta, along with others, used firearms to shoot up the house of a former Kingsmen member who beat up a Kingsmen regional president.
A total of 16 people were charged and convicted in the case, including Kingsmen national president David Pirk and Andrew Jenkins, each sentenced to serve multiple life terms in prison.
