Sheriff: 6 Hells Angels bikers charged in York County attack on rival over territory

Sheriff’s officials have charged what they describe as six members of the Hells’ Angels motorcycle club in connection with an attack on a rival over territory and clothes, officials said.

The six suspects were described in a written statement from the sheriff’s office as members of the “Hells Angels motorcycle gang,” according to Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office. Three of the suspects are from the Rock Hill chapter and three are from other parts of South Carolina, Faris said.

Arrested were Robert Lynn Hannah, 49, Michael Dennis Kidd, 42, and Thomas Martinsen, 41, all of York County, according to arrest and jail records. Hanna is president of the Rock Hill chapter of the Hell’s Angels, Faris said.

Deputies also charged Crawford James Prevatte, 56, and Anthony Raymond Briggs, 28, both of Goose Creek; and Lawrence Christopher Zealy, 42, of Hanahan.

The six suspects are charged with attacking a member of the Outlaws club on June 11 after a dispute outside a bar northwest of Clover, Faris said. The owner of the bar, the Bear’s Den, asked the six men to leave, Faris said. The six men then tried to start a fight with Outlaw club members before attacking a person wearing an Outlaw shirt, Faris said.

“It’s believed the six men coordinated and planned the attack as a part of an intimidation tactic over presumed territory,” Faris said in a statement.

All six are charged with criminal conspiracy and strong armed robbery, according to sheriff and jail records. All the charges are felonies under South Carolina law.

Several Hells Angels from York County and Lancaster County were sentenced to prison in 2013 after a federal conspiracy trial over drugs and weapons.
