Two members and an associate of the Mongols bikie gang have been charged following a raid on an Airbnb property in Balga last week.
Detectives from the drug squad searched the home in Rochester Circle where they allegedly found 3kg of cocaine and 1kg of methylamphetamine.
On Thursday the 22-year-old and 42-year-old Mongol members were arrested along with a 36-year-old woman who police described as an ‘associate’ of the bikie gang.
Police also searched houses in in Landsdale and Alexander Heights, where it will be alleged large quantities of cash and other types of drugs were seized.
All three people arrested have been charged with various drug offences while 42-year-old and 36-year-old have also been charged with money laundering offences.
The 36-year-old is next due to appear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court on July 21 while the while the 42-year-old and 22-year-oldare next due to appear in the same court on July 10
Tuesday 21 July 2020, while the 42-year-old man and the 22-year-old man are next due to appear in the same court on Friday 10 July 2020.
Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Beesley said this seizure showed how bikie gangs go about their criminal business.
“Gang Crime Squad detectives continue to target outlaw motorcycle gangs — their members and associates — who are heavily involved in the illicit drugs trade. The fact there is 3kg of cocaine and 1kg of meth involved suggests those arrested are not at the street-level – they are much higher up the chain of command,” he said.
“Our investigation into the broader criminal networks involved is ongoing and we will relentlessly pursue all those people who attempt to fill our streets with harmful drugs.”
