THREE men, including a senior member of the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG), charged following an ongoing investigation into alleged violent and criminal activity in the Bay and Basin area have appeared in court.
Graeme Andrew McGilvray, 33, of Sanctuary Point, Cameron James Fisher-Brown, 23, of Sanctuary Point and Joshua John Peters, 24, of Old Erowal Bay have faced a variety of charges in Nowra Local Court.
The three were among four men arrested as part of a State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad and South Coast Police District detectives investigations into illicit activities in the area, including a brawl at the Huskisson Hotel in January.
The Huskisson Hotel was the scene of two brawls which president of the Brutal South Chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Group, Graeme McGilvray has admitted to being involved in.
The men were arrested following a number of Firearms Prohibition Order checks at homes throughout Sanctuary Point and Old Erowal Bay early on June 10.
McGilvray, who confirmed with police he is the president of the Brutal South Chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Group, which was expanding its presence on the South Coast, has pleaded guilty to affray and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
The guilty plea to the affray charges comes from being involved in two brawls at the Huskisson Hotel on January 24 this year.
Court papers said two separate incidents against the same victim happened between 10.55pm and 11.20pm.
The first fight near the rear smoking area of the hotel lasted around 35 seconds and grew into a small brawl before being broken up by hotel security.
McGilvray has admitted to headbutting the man in the melee.
The court heard McGilvray was escorted from the premises by security staff but continued to taunt and pursue his alleged victim.
It was alleged McGilvray grabbed an outdoor bar stool and again confronted the victim, swinging the metal stool above his head before a second brawl erupted, which was again broken up by security staff.
This incident lasted about 20 seconds.
Both fights were captured on CCTV.
Police investigated the incidents and raided McGilvray’s Park Drive home as part of the Firearms Prohibition Order checks on June 10 and allegedly found two vials of testosterone and three vials of the anabolic steroid, trenbolone.
McGilvray’s bail will continue and he will be sentenced on September 11.
Peters has not entered any pleas to charges of affray, common assault and possessing a prohibited drug.
The affray and assault charges relate to his alleged involvement in the incident at the Huskisson Hotel on January 24. It is also alleged during the police raids on June 10 cannabis was found inside the toilet bowl of his Erowal Bay home.
Fisher-Brown has also not entered any pleas to the charge of possessing a prohibited weapon at Sanctuary Point on April 14.
He also faces a charge of driving while disqualified after allegedly being caught by police driving a Toyota Aurion on the Princes Highway at South Nowra between 1am and 1.30am on May 27.
Peters’ and Fisher-Brown’s bail was also continued and they will reappear in court on August 10.
