BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Ensley that left one person dead and injured five others, including an off-duty Birmingham police officer. Watch the latest update from police above.

According to Birmingham Police Sgt. Rod Mauldin, the off-duty officer suffered non-life threatening injuries in a shooting just before midnight at a motorcycle club in the 400 block of 18th Street Ensley.

Mauldin said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other four people injured were taken to the hospital. The conditions are unknown at this time.

Mauldin said all six victims were patrons of the club at the time of the shooting.

It’s unclear at this time what led up to the shooting. The State Bureau of Investigation is leading an investigation.
