Brother’s Keepers MC makes donation to Junior Livestock Show

The Magnolia Chapter of the Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club made a $1,000 donation to the Columbia County Junior Livestock Sale.

The donation was made as a result of a member hearing radio promotional ads for the sale.

This money will go to support Columbia County 4-H & FFA livestock exhibitors showing in the 2020 county fair livestock shows.

The Magnolia Chapter of the Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club donated nearly $2700 to six different causes in 2019 including: CCAPS; Camp I’m Still Me; the Domestic Violence Shelter; for Magnolia Fire Department smoke alarm distributions; the peanut butter and crackers drive, and medical expenses for a local patient in need. The money was raised from three different local raffles the club conducted.

The club is currently conducting another raffle to raise more money other worthy causes.

The 2020 Columbia County Fair was recently cancelled except for the livestock shows. The sale committee wanted to make the public aware that even through the COVID crisis youth livestock exhibitors still have animals. The idea was hatched to conduct a radio campaign featuring actual exhibitors speaking on their projects.

Even though there will not be a live auction, the sale committee is accepting donations for distribution towards exhibitor’s projects. For more information on making a donation you may contact the Columbia County Extension Office at 870-235-3720 or Mike Launius at 870-451-2304.
