The “Sons of Hell” biker chopped the rival on the head with a meat cleaver before he escaped on a Harley Davidson.

David Laponder, 35, started what district attorney Kevin Slack called an “extremely violent attack” on Daniel Gibbons on March 21 of this year around 11 a.m. on Old Liverpool Road, Warrington.

A biker repeatedly hacked a chapter colleague’s head with a meat cleaver before fleeing on a Harley Davidson after a dispute over “club rules.

The biker left his victim with a skull fracture.

Laponder – a member of the Sons of Hell biker club from Tameside – swung the blade at Mr. Gibbons – from the Warrington chapter – who tried to grab it and “seemed to lose his balance on the curb and fall backwards”.

The “Sons of Hell” biker chopped the rival on the head with a meat cleaver before he escaped on a Harley Davidson.

Liverpool Crown Court heard a window cleaner climbing up his ladder when he heard the two men shouting at each other and saw Mr Gibbons backing away across the street saying, “Dave, drop the knife, just drop the knife”.

After attacking his rival, the thug on the high-powered motorcycle made off from the scene, leaving his victim with a fractured skull.

The incident was recorded on the dashboard of a passing vehicle and showed the defendants hacking on Mr. Gibbons “a total of eight times with the meat cleaver” with what the prosecutor called “clear cruelty.

The knifeman “then stood over the victim and repeatedly struck him with the meat cleaver.

When he heard the blade land, the window cleaner immediately felt “sick at the first blow when he hit Mr. Gibbons’ head” during the “wild” barrage.

A passenger in a passing vehicle who saw the two men were initially unsure whether they were “fighting or fooling around” and they seemed to be “wrestling,” but Laponder looked “dominant.

Separate Dashcam footage filmed a bloodied Mr. Gibbons fleeing on foot while his attacker hobbled behind him.

She saw Mr. Gibbons fall back and tried to get up just so Laponder could hit him on the back of the head with the meat cleaver.

Laponder was heard screaming, “I’m going to kill him,” and the passenger saw Mr. Gibbons bleed on his head.

Courageous passers-by began to stop and get out of their cars and vans to intervene.

Another man even tried to get between them and yelled at the attacker, “What are you doing? To which Laponder replied, “What are you going to do?

One woman said Laponder looked “angry but not out of control” and added that “he had the look of a villain from a horror movie” as he limped down the street.

Laponder threw himself in his leather, was seen stashing the cleaver in the “pannier” of his motorcycle, and rode away from the scene on a Harley Davidson.

In another act of public “courage,” he was followed by another passerby who chased him in her car to pick up his registration and hand it over to the police.

This caused another biker to jump in and persuade the attacker….
