Accused killer of Rebels bikie boss Nick Martin charged with five more offences

The 34-year-old man accused of killing Rebels bikie boss Nick Martin at Kwinana Motorplex in December last year has been charged with an additional five offences.

The man, who cannot be identified but is reportedly a former soldier, was charged with Nick Martin’s murder in March this year.

Later this week he will face court on a set of a further five allegations made by WA Police, The West Australian reports.

The man is alleged to have failed to provide storage for a firearm or ammunition, driving a vehicle with false plates, contravening a learner’s permit, possessing a prohibited drug, and possessing a silencer.

That fifth charge can attract a sentence of up to three years.

It will be his third appearance in court.

The first was undertaken on March 17 with heavy security and a strong police presence.

The second was held last week with no media in attendance, according to The West Australian.

No plea has been entered for any of the charges laid against the accused.

As well as the murder charge and the five additional charges listed above, the accused has been charged with two counts of “unlawful act with omission with intent to harm” relating to the December 12 Kwinana Motorplex incident, in which former Gold Coast bikie Ricky Chapman and a five-year-old boy were injured.

Martin’s killing sent shockwaves across Perth. He was gunned down in front of a number of bystanders, including his wife Amanda, while watching the drag races.

The media has been asked not to name or picture the face of the accused due to the high-profile nature of the case and fears over his security and safety.

Outside court on March 17, the man’s lawyer was asked if there were concerns over the client’s security to which he responded, “Yeah, I think that’s pretty obvious”.
