Gang member got rid of hunting weapons Shotguns and bullet weapons were seized

Translated from Swedish

A man in his 60s who is vice president of a supporter group for Hells Angels MC, has had his hunting weapons confiscated and has now lost his license to possess firearms.

The man lives in southern Sweden but has a job where he travels all over the country. When the police raided Red Devil MC Halland’s premises in southern Kungsbacka in the summer of 2019, the man was there wearing a vest that showed that he is vice president of the club.

Red Devils MC is an official supporter group for Hells Angels MC, and is thus controlled by HA. The supporter groups are often used to carry out work for HA, for example to collect money or store drugs.

According to the police’s national operational department, NOA, Hells Angels meets all 11 of the EU’s criteria for organized crime. It is an organization that exercises discipline over its members, and which strives for power and gain.

It is the fact that the man moves in an environment and organization with links to organized crime, which makes the police authority decide that he is unfit to possess a weapon. The police authority believes that there is a risk that he will be subjected to pressure, threats and violence, which means that he will not be able to retain control of his weapons.

Appeal

Among other things, there are two shotguns, one of which is a memorial and several shotguns that were taken care of during a house search in his home in Kalmar County.
The man appealed the Police Authority’s decision to the administrative court. He points out that he had a firearms license for 38 years without remarks and is unpunished with the exception of “simple traffic offenses” 12-13 years ago.

He states that he has ridden a motorcycle and worked full time since the age of 16 and lives a polite and honest life.

However, the Administrative Court follows the line of the police and writes that he moves in an environment where weapons should not be present. Although it has not otherwise been able to prove anything that makes him unfit to possess a weapon, the court takes into account what is known about Hells Angel’s activities.
