An alleged ranking member of the Pagan’s motorcycle gang pleaded guilty Monday to federal charges after authorities found drugs and a firearm in his residence while executing a search warrant last year.
Daniel Hooban, also known as “White Boy,” of Bayonne, was the sergeant at arms of the motorcycle club’s Jersey City chapter when he was charged by federal authorities last year with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, authorities said.
He pleaded guilty to all three charges in federal court via Zoom on Monday. His attorney said Hooban takes full responsibility for his actions.
The 33-year-old was arrested in June 2020 after authorities executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation and recovered 33 grams of cocaine, eight grams of cocaine base and a loaded handgun, according to the complaint.
Hooban has been free on a $100,000 unsecured appearance bond. He will remain out on bail until his sentencing on April 19, according to court documents.
Hooban’s arrest came as federal authorities began aggressively investigating the Pagans, an outlaw group that in recent years has rapidly expanded and been involved in violent assaults, drug distribution and shootings across New Jersey, according to investigators.
He is one of at least 10 reported members of the Pagans who have been criminally charged over the last year.
